Latisha "Lety" Gonzalez is Palm Healthcare Foundation Inc.'s newest AmeriCorps VISTA and community engagement coordinator. Lety works primarily with the Healthier Together communities, providing assistance during and organizing community meetings, writing informative letters on the foundation's neighborhood work, networking with community residents and more.
Lety was born in New York City, but has been a Palm Beach County resident since she was a child and therefore calls South Florida home. She currently lives in Lake Worth with her fiance, step-daughter, daughter, a cat named Frodo and a dog named Chewy.
Lety's favorite pastime is traveling; she enjoys taking trips that connect her with nature. She likes to hike and garden. In her spare time, she assists her fiance, a cancer survivor, in managing a charity that helps cancer patients called Road Warriors Corp.
Lety has been a Florida licensed massage therapist, yoga instructor, and personal trainer for the last 12 years. In addition to that, she has her bachelors in exercise science and health promotion, recently got her master’s in public health with a concentration in health promotion, received her certification as a health education specialist (CHES) and hopes to someday get her PhD.
Lety always been a health advocate and believes that everyone should have access to healthy choices. Today, she is excited to work on community health initiatives, creating healthy environments, and learning hands-on with Palm Healthcare Foundation.
