Palm Healthcare Foundation Seeks Stories of Palm Beach County’s

Most Compassionate for 6^th Annual Nursing Distinction Awards

WEST PALM BEACH, FL. – Beginning November 12, 2007, Palm Healthcare Foundation and The Palm Beach Post will be accepting nominations to recognize Palm Beach County’s most outstanding nursing professionals at the sixth annual Palm Healthcare Foundation and WPTV News Channel 5 Nursing Celebration Dinner.

The Palm Healthcare’s and Palm Beach Post’s Nursing Distinction Awards recognize those who serve as an inspiration to others in an effort to improve the quality of healthcare, discover new ways to assist those in need, and display compassion and caring on a daily basis. Nominees should display dedication to excellence in an area of expertise beyond the scope of their jobs, commitment to the profession of nursing, and a sense of community. Eligible nominees include registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nurse educators, nursing assistants, nursing students, and volunteers who have made a significant impact in the lives of patients and fellow healthcare professionals throughout Palm Beach County.

• Licensed Practical Nurse of the Year
• Certified Nursing Assistant of the Year
• Nursing Student of the Year
• Educator of the Year
• Hands & Heart Award
• Extra Mile Award  

Palm Healthcare Foundation hopes to receive nominations from those within the healthcare community as well as patients and members of the public who have received or observed outstanding nursing care. The 2008 Palm Healthcare Foundation and WPTV News Channel 5 Nursing Celebration Dinner will be held May 9, 2008 at The Breakers, Palm Beach. As one of Palm Beach’s largest events, the sixth annual Nursing Distinction Awards will honor Palm Beach County’s dedicated and highly skilled nursing professionals recognizing nurses with awards in eight categories. The highlight of the evening will be the announcement of the 2008 Nurse of the Year.

Proceeds from the dinner will be used to fund nursing scholarships for future Palm Beach County nursing professionals.
